CDSP Obedience - WHAT IS THAT?????
Come to our CDSP Demonstration at 22 Prospect Ave, Madison, NJ on
Nov 7, 2009 @ 4:30 p.m. and find out!
CDSP Obedience is a more natural version of competitive obedience. Verbal communication and praise is allowed between handler and dog while performing all exercises. You are also allowed to treat your dog between exercises. While many of the exercises are the same as in other forms of obedience, there are no group stays in CDSP. ALL dogs, including mixed breeds, can show in CDSP. Physically challenged dogs and handlers are encouraged to participate and exercise modifications are allowed when needed.
There is a practice match to follow the demonstration so come on out and watch the dogs at work, or, better yet, try your hand at it.

Crystal Kennels & Dove Hill Labradors are sponsoring an ‘ALL BREED’ health clinic on December 13, 2009
The clinic will be held at Loudoun Veterinary Service in Purcellville, Virginia
Dr. Nancy Bromberg will be doing CERF Exams (Dogs for CERF exams ONLY. Please no exams for eye problems)
Dr. William Tyrrell will be doing exams for OFA cardiac clearances.
Dr. Bromberg & Dr. Tyrrell are board certified in their specialty field
Dr. Stephen Stang will be taking radiographs for OFA hips and/or elbows.
A mild sedative will be given to dogs being radiographed. Dogs will be able to walk back to their cars. Radiographs for OFA prelims are welcome. We will not have time for pre-anesthetic blood work. If you want this done, please have it done at your regular vet prior to your appointment.
We will also be offering micro-chipping for those who need to meet the OFA & CERF permanent identification requirements or just want to have their dogs micro-chipped.
We will be offering Thyroid & Patella checks.
We will also be offering SNAP 4Dx Heartworm/Lyme/Ehrlichia tests.
All dogs attending the clinic must be up to date on vaccines.
Costs:
CERF Exams: $38 per dog
Cardiac exams: $45 per dog
Micro-chips: $35 per dog
Patella checks: $10 per dog
SNAP 4Dx Heartworm test: $50
Hip Radiographs: $150 per dog
Elbow radiographs: (with hips) $75 per dog

These prices are discounted for this date only. Loudoun Veterinary Service will not honor them at any other time.
You will still be responsible for the cost of registering your dog’s results with the OFA and CERF. Those having radiographs taken & thyroid testing must bring a check made payable to the OFA for submitting the films & the blood samples. Loudoun Veterinary Service will submit them.

There will be a NEW drop in handling class for all breeds and skill levels on Thursday at Fort Steilacoom Park between the dog park and the big red barn in Lakewood, WA. Park in the parking lot for the dog park. There will be a table available and hopefully we can make this a regular class. Handlers to novice are welcome. Instruction will be given to those who want it, or you can bring your dog just for socialization or practice. There are a lot of shows coming up, so don't miss this opportunity to get your dogs trained! The cost is $10 per handler, NOT per dog, bring as many as you like.
