A few words about our awesome instructors:
Timothy Conradt started showing dogs at an early age of 15 when he began helping his parents show their Rottweilers. He started branching out with other breeds in his early 20's and enjoys showing all the different breeds. He is an AKC handler and has been breeding Bullmastiff's for the last few years. Handling isn't the only profession for Timothy, he is currently the Kennel Manager for Assistance Dogs of America.
Gretchen Conradt (Sahloff), yes, she is Bill's daughter, has been showing dogs since the age of 7. She has shown many different breeds and is currently breeding Bullmastiffs and Briards. She is an AKC Registered Handler and is also an elementary school teacher in Toledo.

Notes:
Please bring a chair for the lecture portions of the seminar. A crate for your dog, a tarp or blanket to set your crate on so we don’t ruin the nice rubber floors.

PAT HASTINGS Workshop!!!
Dan Emmett Kennel Club Is Proud To Host a Pat Hastings Workshop!
STRUCTURE IN ACTION will be a one-day workshop on Saturday February 25th 2012. This workshop combines Pat Hastings’ Puppy Puzzle Presentation, as well as Hastings’ discussion of the value of structurally evaluating adult dogs that are being considered for a breeding program, working trials or performance competition, along with a veterinarian’s perspective on how to reduce the risk of structural injuries in working and performance dogs.
Dogs will do most anything we ask of them. The question is: Do we want to ask them to do things that they are structurally incapable of doing without breaking down? Is that what we really want to do to our most steadfast companions? The more we learn about canine structure, the more we understand what is reasonable to ask of our dogs, given their physical strengths and weaknesses.
AGENDA:
•How to evaluate the structural quality of puppies, 1-2 litters of puppies 7-9 weeks needed, please contact adeister@ECR.net if you will have puppies available (you will receive a FREE seminar).
•The basics of canine structure.
•The weakest links.
•How to evaluate the structural quality of your adult dog.
•What your dog can do and should not be doing?
•A vet’s ideas on how to strengthen structure and reduce the risk of injury
Questions and hands-on work with 10-12 invited adult dogs. Please contact adeister@ECR.net if you would like to volunteer your dog.
PAT HASTINGS:
Pat is well respected in dog-world as an educator, author and AKC judge. Well-known for her Puppy Puzzle DVD, she evaluates the structural quality of over 300 litters per year. Pat has been involved in the dog world since 1959 and began her career as an owner-handler, moving into breeding, then teaming up with her husband in professional handling. She is currently an AKC judge of the Herding, Non-Sporting Groups and Working Groups; number Terrier Breeds, Junior Showmanship; and Best in Show. ** Pat’s DVDs / Books will be available at the seminar. Visit her website at www.dogfolk.com for additional information.

Friday, March 23rd & Saturday, March, 24th

Cardiovascular wellness is very important. To promote the healthy heart, the New Brunswick Kennel Club offers a Cardiology Screening Clinic on Friday, March 23rd and Saturday March 24th in conjunction with their All Breed / Obedience Show. This clinic is intended to safely and accurately identify congenital or acquired heart problems.
Two cardiology specialists will be performing the examinations.
- Philip R. Fox DVM, MS, DACVIM/ECVIM, DACVECC
- Jean-Paul Petrie, DVM, DACVIM
Cardiology Clinic Services:
A: Auscultation (cost: $40) Standard OFA congenital heart disease forms will be used.
B: Echocardiography (cost: $200) This safe and accurate non-invasive technique uses diagnostic ultrasound to evaluated heart size, heart function, and valve abnormalities. In addition, Doppler echocardiography helps map blood flow through the heart and vessels. Echo is used to discover and assesses the presence and severity of hereditary (congenital) heart disease such as PDA, SAS, mitral and tricuspid valve abnormalities, defects (holes) in heart walls, and many other conditions. It also detects acquired heart disease such as cardiomyopathies, mitral and tricuspid valve disease, disease of the pericardium (heart sack), and other conditions. No sedation is necessary.
When selecting an echocardiogram, we wave our fee for the OFA certification form.
Pre-registration is not required. All testing is on a walk-in basis.

STRUCTURE IN ACTION WORKSHOP BY PAT HASTINGS
A one-day workshop that combines Pat Hastings Puppy Puzzle Presentation, as well as Hastings’ discussion of the
value of structurally evaluating adult dogs that are being considered for a breeding program, working trials or performance competition, along with a veterinarian’s perspective on how to reduce injuries in working and performance dogs.
Dogs will do most anything we ask of them. The question is: Do we want to ask them to do things that they are structurally incapable of doing without breaking down? Is that what we really want to do to
our most steadfast companions? The more we learn about canine structure, the more we understand what is reasonable to ask of our dogs, given their physical strengths and weaknesses.
Pat Hastings is well respected in the dog-world as an
educator, author and AKC judge. Well-known for her Puppy Puzzle DVD, she evaluates the structural quality of over 350 litters per year.
Hands-on work with attendees+dogs concludes the day.
