Notice to Exhibitors

™ The Doberman Pinscher Club of Northern California and its Superintendent assume no responsibility for a wrong entry. Exhibitors are advised to print all unusual words when filling in entry forms.

™ Neutered dogs and spayed bitches are allowed to compete in Veterans Classes only at independent specialties and/or those all-breed shows which do not offer any competitive classes beyond Best of Breed.

™ Remember the non-regular classes after Best of Breed.

™ The Club will exercise every precaution for the safety of dogs exhibited, but it is understood that the Club will not be responsible for loss.

™ Trophies & Prizes will be awarded in the judging ring to the person exhibiting the dog, who will be considered the rightful recipient of the award. Any discrepancy should be reported to the Superintendent before completion of show.

™ Class Cash Prizes will be paid in the ring to the person showing the dog. Claims for prize money must be made in the ring before the judging of that breed is over, and the Superintendent's Office advised at once. The Superintendents and show-giving Club disclaim any liability for cash prizes after the judging of the breed is over.

™ No dogs will be allowed in the show area except those regularly entered in this show. There will be NO SPACE for unentered dogs at this show.

Sweepstakes will be open to all Doberman Pinschers that are 6 months of age and under 18 months of age on the day of the show. Dogs shown in the Sweepstakes must also be entered in one of the Regular Classes at this show, at the regular entry fee, and on the same American Kennel Club official entry form. To enter, write "Sweepstakes" in the "Additional class box and state the age of the dog. Add $5.00 to the regular entry fee. Sweepstakes Classes will be judged before the regular breed classes. Acknowledgement of entries will be made as soon as practicable with tickets and/or identification cards. Entries must be accompanied by a cover sheet stating the number of pages, what shows and how many dogs per show. Visa/Mastercard number and expiration date, as well as the printed cardholder's name and address must be included on cover sheet. Visa/Mastercard number, expiration date, cardholder's name must appear on each entry. Fax entries must be received by the closing hour/date. Fax fee: $4.50 per entry in addition to entry fee. All credit card entries, regardless of method submitted, are processed through the Fax program and are charged the $4.50 processing fee. This Fax Fee is subject to change without notice.

Make All Checks and Money Orders payable to MB-F, Inc. CANADIAN exhibitors must make fees payable in U.S. FUNDS. Please mail checks or money orders with entries. Superintendent assumes no responsibility for cash sent through the mail. Tabulate carefully. Due to cost of processing, no refunds $4.00 and under will be made.

A Recording Fee of 50¢ will be required for each dog entered at any Licensed or Member Club Show, Obedience Trial or Tracking Test. This Recording Fee is to be collected by the Show-giving Club and paid to the American Kennel Club. If a dog is entered in more than one class in the show, the Recording Fee is to be collected on the first entry only. (American Kennel Club Rule, Chapter 11, Section 2)

No Entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any conditions as to its acceptance.

Entry Fees shall not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or Judge, or barred from competition by action of the event's Show Committee. If because of riots, wars, strikes, civil disturbances, national emergencies, health emergencies, and the dictates of law enforcement or of the owner(s) of the grounds and/or facilities or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open or to complete the show, no refund of entry fee will be made. Extreme weather conditions, such as, but not limited to snow storms, hurricanes, lightning, extreme heat, heavy rains, or other circumstances including, but not limited to, the condition of the facilities or grounds and/or the ingress and egress from the grounds, must be considered for the health and safety of the dogs, exhibitors and spectators. The well-being of dogs, exhibitors and spectators is of paramount importance and, in the event it is necessary to cancel or stop the show before completion, no refund of entry fee will be made.

Unloading & Parking Information

UNLOADING Friday is through Gate 12 off Valley Avenue only. For Labradors & Rottweilers in the North Orchard make a right after paying and follow the signs. For all other breeds proceed straight ahead, at end of roadway make a right and go through the tunnel. Parking: after unloading return your vehicle to the grass parking lot.

UNLOADING Saturday, Sunday & Monday is through both the Main Gate off Pleasanton Avenue and Gate 12 off Valley Avenue. Any exhibitor may drive onto the grounds to unload between 6:00 A.M. and 7:15 A.M. All vehicles must be off the grounds by 7:30 A.M. or they will be towed. Be sure to allow yourself plenty of time and for safety reasons this time cannot be extended. Except for a medical emergency no vehicle may drive onto the show grounds after 7:15 A.M. You may drive back onto the grounds to load up only after all judging in your area has concluded. After 7:15 A.M. an unloading loop will be open all day between the Young California and Exhibition Buildings and through the tunnel in the back for the North Forty rings.

DEL VALLE WEEKEND RV PARKING INFORMATION

All RV parking is through Gate 12 off Valley Avenue. Make a right after passing the Watch & Wager Building and follow the signs. Do not proceed to your RV parking space without an escort. All vehicles must have a working fire extinguisher, be self-contained, no discharging of gray water allowed. Electrical hookups not guaranteed - no electrical cords permitted across path or roadways. Persons who break open locked boxes or otherwise damage property in order to find electricity will be held responsible for damage and may be asked to leave. No running of generators after 11:00 p.m. or before 6:00 a.m. Those wishing to park together must send reservations in together, however there is no guarantee that we can accommodate all requests. All parking is at your own risk. Alameda Co. Fair Assn. & Del Valle Dog Club assume no responsibility for fire, theft, and/or loss to vehicles or their contents. DVDC reserves the right to withdraw parking privileges, without return of parking or entry fees, for anyone who cannot abide by these rules or who resorts to abusive language or actions. Violators may be subject to Event Committee charges. $35.00 per night for a 20' x 40' space, $45.00 for 20' x 60', and $60.00 for 20' x 80' space. Vehicles over 40' in length will be accommodated only where possible. Trailers and tow units may be required to be unhitched. Tagalong vehicles are $30.00/night. Shower location shown on ring map, open 6:00 A.M. to 9:00 A.M. & 5:00 P.M. to 8 P.M., people only, no dogs! Fiberglass dog baths have been placed around the show grounds, please check ring map for locations. Dog bathing is restricted to these dog bathtubs only.

Reserved overnight parking Thursday 2:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M., Friday 4:30 P.M. to 11:00 P.M., Saturday and Sunday 6:00 A.M. to 7:15 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. to 11 P.M., Monday 6:00 A.M. to 7:15 A.M. only. If you arrive in your RV at other times please park in the exhibitor parking lots and you may move to your reserved space only during the aforementioned hours. Unreserved overnight parking in large paved lot is $35.00 per night.

From Hwy. 680 North or Southbound in the Pleasanton Area take the Bernal Ave. exit. Go East on Bernal and make left at first traffic light onto Valley Ave. Enter through Gate 12.

Hotels

This is a complete list of hotels and motels in the Tri-Valley Area and a little beyond. A few take dogs, many do not, but remember you can leave your dogs at the show grounds in a locked building between the hours of 10 P.M. and 6:00 A.M. Friday, Saturday & Sunday nights. A roving Security Guard oversees the area around the buildings both nights. If you are lucky enough to find a hotel that accepts dogs we ask you to treat these hotels well, keep dogs quiet and crated when in rooms. Do not bathe dogs in hotel bathtubs, do your grooming at the show, not in the hotel room! Exercise dogs off hotel property and always pick-up after them.

Show Limits

The Jockeys, trainers and horse owners have asked that no exhibitors or dogs be allowed by horse stables, race track or horse exercise areas. It frightens their animals. Please abide by their wishes.

Important Notice To All Exhibitors

Cleaning up after your dog is your responsibility!

Pooper-scoopers (in chlorine filled buckets) will be placed all around the show grounds and outside all show rings. If your dog soils the parking lot, show grounds or the rings, it is your responsibility to clean it up. By signing the entry form for this show, you are agreeing that clean-up is your responsibility. Violators may be subject to an Event Committee Hearing.

Grooming & Set-Ups

No ex-pens permitted in any building.

Dogs and Equipment may be left in these buildings overnight but you do so entirely at your own risk. Please mark the top of each crate with the phone number where you may be reached should any problems arise in your absence. All buildings will be locked from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. each evening. Neither the Officers & Directors, Employees & Members of the Alameda County Fairgrounds, MB-F, Inc., or the Del Valle Dog Club of Livermore assume any responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged property or dogs. Please stack crates and conserve space in consideration of others. A Roving Security Guard will be roaming the grounds overnight.

The Grooming Building is located just West of the Hall of Commerce and will open Thursday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. and be available throughout the weekend.

The Young California Building will be available for exhibitor set-ups after 2:00 p.m. on Friday. If you are set-up in this building prior to 2:00 p.m., you will be asked to move your equipment and dogs out.

Dog Washing on the Fairgrounds

The 1996 Clean Water Act is now being enforced at the Alameda County Fairgrounds. All gray water (which includes soapy water from washing dogs) must be discharged into sanitary sewer systems only, and not dumped onto the ground or into storm drains. A hefty fine can be levelled against offenders. Del Valle will be placing Dog Bathtubs around the grounds for your convenience. Please check the Fairgrounds map in the Judging Program for designated dog washing locations. We will do our best to make it easy for all of you.

Post Dated Checks, Returned Checks and Declined Credit Cards do not constitute a valid entry fee. The Superintendent will add a collection fee to the amount of each returned check or declined card. Subsequent returned checks or declined cards from the same exhibitors may result in their being put on a CASH ONLY basis.

No Refund for Duplicate Entries. Every effort to find all duplicate entries will be made; however, if entry has been processed, no refund will be made.

An Administrative Fee of $2.00 will be withheld from all refunds for entries cancelled prior to the closing of entries.

Errors on Entry Blanks. Owners are responsible for errors in making out entry forms, whoever may make such errors, and no entry fee will be refunded in event of such errors or cancellation of entries after the published closing date.

Dogs May Arrive any time prior to their scheduled time of judging. Dogs not required for further judging will be excused.

Judges Will Not Wait for Any Dog Holding Up a Class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging ring when their classes are called to be judged.

All Dogs Present must be held on leash or confined to their crates except when being judged or when in the exercising ring.

No gasoline or diesel generators are permitted inside any building or within 100 feet of any tent in which this dog show is conducted.
