Nannette obtained her first Australian Shepherd in 1973. She has been a member of the Australian Shepherd Club of America (ASCA) since that time. She is also an approved Breeder Judge in that organization and has been a member of the United States Australian Shepherd Association (USASA) since its inception in 1992. As a breeder-owner-handler she put advanced titles in herding, conformation, and her dogs, also earning the coveted title of Most Versatile Australian Shepherd at a National Specialty and Reserve Most Versatile Australian Shepherd at the following National's competition. She continues to compete in conformation events with her bloodlines and has exhibited a variety of other breeds including the Sussex Spaniel, Border Collie, Chinese Crested, Vizsla, Labrador, and Collie.

Nannette has served USASA in a variety of assignments, working with every board since the club's inception and the breed's introduction into AKC. Her first duties were as editor of the award-winning breed club magazine, The Australian Shepherd Journal, which she served for over 12 years. As editor she also served as the subscription chair, membership chair, developed the club on-line presence and was integral in turning the magazine into a profitable enterprise for the club.

Most recently Nannette has served as the USASA Judge's Education Coordinator for the past eight years. In that capacity she further developed the educational side of the breed presence, coordinating and conducting Judge's Education seminar for the Australian Shepherd on a world-wide basis. She also served as the editor of the AKC Gazette breed column for many years.

Nannette is an approved Parent Club Presenter/Mentor and is one of only nine AKC-approved Australian Shepherd breeder judges.
