Carl E. Gomes

As a teenager, Carl E. Gomes became involved in the sport of dogs.  His first acquisition was a Boston Terrier quickly followed by a German Shepherd Dog.  He started showing dogs in 1968 and was granted a Professional Handlers License in 1973 by the American Kennel Club.  He is currently licensed to judge Best In Show, the Non Sporting Group and several breeds in other Groups.

 For several years, Carl has served as Chairman of the Judges Education Committee for the Boston Terrier Club of America.  His responsibilities include training and development of future judges of the breed and the dissemination of information, with the intent to promote and protect the interests of the breed.

 His judging assignments include the Westminster Kennel Club and the American Kennel Club/Eukanuba Invitational, as well as international assignments in Germany, Sweden, South Korea, China, St. Lucia and Trinidad.

 Carl has been a member of several National Breed Clubs and is currently a Delegate to the American Kennel Club, representing the Pacific Coast Boston Terrier Club based in California.
