Since childhood I have been in close contact with dogs, breeding and showing and successfully competing in Junior Showmanship, both in Venezuela and Mexico, as well as competition in dog shows. Our family entered the world of dogs with American Cocker Spaniels and Wire Hair Fox Terriers. Later on, still in Venezuela, we bred Dalmatians, and in 1962 moved to Mexico, bringing Dalmatians and a Cocker Spaniel with us. In the early 70’s we began breeding Basset Hounds and during the 80’s owned a Whippet bitch, breeding then both breeds. I acted for many years as Ring Stewart for different clubs under FCM and applied for my first judging licenses in 1975.
For personal reasons, I left the Dog World for a while and came back again at the beginning of the 90’s, having reassumed the presentation of exams and obtaining the All-Breed National License in 2001. In June 2006, I became an International All-Breed Judge under F. C. I.
I have judged all-breed shows in most of Mexico and also in Venezuela (Barquisimeto), El Salvador (San Salvador), Guatemala (Guatemala City), Colombia (Cali), Ecuador (Ambato), Thailand (Bangkok), Canada (Sudbury, Scarborough, Petawawa, Winnipeg, Ottawa Show of Shows), United States (Florida, California, Texas), Argentina (Buenos Aires), Puerto Rico (San Juan), Nicaragua (Managua), Dominican Republic (Santo Domingo) and Brazil (Sao Paulo).
