Mr. David A. Ojalvo was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He graduated from the Buenos Aires University with an Accountant degree, activity that he is still developing along with his love to Dogs.
He started his canine activity thirty years ago with the all-breeds judge Mr. Enrique Filippini. His experience in pure-bred dogs began with the breeding and exhibition of Miniture Pinschers, followed by Borzoi, Boxers and Italian Greyhounds. He achieved many high honors with his Miniature Pinschers in South America and Europe.
His kennel has produced several champions of different breeds and many "Best in Show" dogs. Later, more breeds were introduced in his kennel for breeding and exhibition: Afghan Hound, English Cocker Spaniel, Doberman, Chihuahua (both varieties), Fox Terrier (Smooth and Wire), Saluki, Maltese, Chow Chow, Yorkshire Terrier, Shar-Pei and Shih Tzu, which have obtained a great success. Several of his "Alba´s Imperial" Shih Tzus won "Best of Breed", "Best in Show" and "Best Dog of the Year".
He has been - along with Mr. Filippini - "Best Breeder" and "Best Exhibitor" of all breeds in 1979, 1980, 1984 and 1989, becoming the first breeder to obtain such honors for four times in his country.
For more than 15 years he has been Chairperson at the Federación Cinológica Argentina. He was in charge of the organization and direction of the "FCI World Dog Show" held in Argentina in 2005. He has organized in the last four years Seminars about different breeds at the Federación Cinológica Argentina. He is charge of the coordination between the Specialist Clubs at the Federación Cinológica Argentina, working directly with the members.
He founded the "Shih Tzu Can Club" in 1989, and he is currently its president.
In 1989, he started to judge some breeds of the FCI Group IX (Toy and Companion Dogs). At present, he is eligible to judge All Breeds, all Groups and Best in Show by the Federación Cinológica Argentina and the Fédération Cynologique Internationale. He is eligible to judge all the groups and Best in Show by the American Kennel Club.
He has judged many times in several Argentinian Clubs and also in Paraguay, Colombia, Bolivia, Uruguay, Mexico, Costa Rica, Luxembourg, Portugal, Netherlands, Sweden, Italy, Spain (Leon, Santander, Barcelona), Philippines, Thailand, different kennels of the United States of America and Canada, "FCI Americas and Caribbean Show" (Brazil, 2001), "FCI World Dog Show Brazil 2004", "FCI World Dog Show 2005", "FCI World Dog Show Mexico 2007", among others.
His "AKC Foreign Judge" number is 7323.
His next judgement assignments include different clubs in Argentina, Brazil, Canada and the United States of America. Also, "Club of Southern Africa", Australia, Italy, Mexico, Spain, Netherlands, Puerto Rico, Peru, Ecuador, Honduras, Indonesia, India, the "AKC/ Eukanuba Invitational Championship 2011" in Orlando, etc.
