Denny Mounce is a Native Texan who has been involved in dogs and horses all of her life. She currently lives in Round Top Texas where she breeds & shows miniature horses, many of whom have become World champions. As a professional handler, she enjoyed much success. She was the Iams/Kennel Review Female Handler of the Year in 1989, 1990 & 1992. With her 1992 win, Ms. Mounce was inducted into the Iams Kennel Review Hall of Fame, the only handler to ever do so.
Among her accomplishments she showed five Best In Show winning Skye Terriers. She exhibited the Beagle of the Year three years in a row. Bred owned or handled nine number one Dachshunds including her favorite the famous Fannie Farkel. She piloted Best in Show winning dogs in six groups, including Smooth Fox Terrier Chaseland's Colby Bradford who lives with her today.
In 1997 Ms. Mounce started her judging career with a variety of breeds from several groups. Her judging has taken her all over the US, Canada and Mexico. She is currently approved to judge All Terriers, All Toys, All Non-Sporting and All Hounds. In addition Ms. Mounce judges eighteen Sporting breeds as well as Pembroke Welsh Corgi and Samoyeds.
In 2005 Ms. Mounce had the honor and the pleasure of judging at the AKC-Eukanuba National Invitational Championship in Tampa FL.
