After growing up with Fox Terriers, Carolyn finished her undergraduate degree and bought a Pekingese who was her traveling companion for the next 12 years. While finishing her masters and beginning advanced post graduate work, she owned Afghans and German Shepherds. In 1978, she married into Bull Terriers. The subsequent, limited Brigadoon breeding program has produced a series of American and Canadian Champions, including multiple Specialty winners, ROM and Group-winning/placing Champions. Carolyn also showed and bred Akitas and was a member of the Golden Gate Akita club for a number of years. A retired Army Officer, Carolyn is a longtime member of NCTA, BTCA, Del Monte KC, Gavilan KC, GSBTC, BCBTC, and MBBTC. Carolyn is a published author, contributes articles to several national magazines and is a breed columnist for the AKC Gazette.
In addition to judging throughout the United States, she has judged in New Zealand, Finland, Italy, Canada, UK, Holland, South Africa, Zamba, Zimbabwe and multiple times in China, Taiwan, and Australia. She has twice judged in France, including the prestigious French National outside Paris in June 06. She judged Silverwood in 2012.
