The Rev. Dr. C. Patrick Ormos
AKC, CKC & UKC multi-breed judge.
Patrick got hooked on dogs in the late 1950's when he went to his first dog show in Montreal. Originally in German Shepherds, he bred his first champion -a GSD- in 1968 and handled semiprofessionally for a few years, handling a number of breeds including Pulik for Mrs. R. D. McLelland - the foundation breeder in Canada. He switched to Cardigans in 1980. In 1984, Patrick and Cathy Ochs-Cline (Vestavia) began the successful Phi-Vestavia Cardigans. Known for many articles under his "One Person's Opinion" byline, he finished his 100th homebred champion in August 2002. Patrick and Cathy (also now a judge) maintain an active breeding program in Cardigans, though they rarely show the dogs themselves anymore.
Currently living in the US, Patrick is licensed as a multi-breed judge. He is working on the Herding breeds first, and hopes to move on into other breeds.
In the "real" world, Patrick was, most recently, Rector (Senior Pastor) of a growing Episcopal congregation near Chicago and now San Antonio, where he lives with his wife, Kristine (also a minister). His son is in the Chicago area, Daniel, now in college. Patrick is retired as of 2011.
