I am a breeder judge of Irish Wolfhounds. I have been a devotee of Irish Wolfhounds since 1984 and have immensely enjoyed our lives together. I take great pride in the fact that during my critical early years and well before I bred my first litter, I spent many years studying the breed with hands-on training, vigilant observation, and most importantly, dialogue with esteemed mentors especially regarding shape, type, and movement. I believe that form ever follows function is a principal in Sighthounds. Because of these years of study, my first litter was quite successful.
I have bred Irish Wolfhounds in both the United States and Canada and as a breeder-owner-handler, exhibited wolfhounds to their championships in both countries. I also trained a Wolfhound for and exhibited briefly in Obedience. Over the past 25 years, I have been fortunate to have won numerous awards at several National and distinguished regional east coast Irish Wolfhound Specialties, mostly from the Bred by Exhibitor classes to include Reserve Winners Bitch and Winners Dog awards along with the prestigious Best Stud Dog, Best Brood Bitch and Best Gait classes. I remain active in Irish Wolfhounds as a breeder and exhibitor and fully intend on doing so for many, many years to come. I am a member of the Irish Wolfhound Club of America and the Irish Wolfhound Association of New England. Of the former, I was the National Show Chairperson for years 1997 and 1998. In addition, I am the former Editor of the national clubs official magazine titled, Harp & Hound.
My passion, enthusiasm, and admiration for the sport of purebred dogs inspired me to become an AKC Judge and I received my approval as a breeder judge for Irish Wolfhounds in 2007 and for Afghan Hounds in 2008. My long-term goals are ambitious as I plan on pursuing licensing for all breeds in the Hound Group and moving forward from there to others. Simply, I am in it for the long haul.
