The Edelweiss kennels was established in the United States by my grandfather in 1894.  My father raised St. Bernard dogs along with Great Danes, Pointers and English Setters.  He also was an AKC licensed judge.  Under the Edelweiss Kennel name I raised Saint Bernard dogs for over 40 years.  Currently I co-own one of the top 5 Portuguese Water Dogs.  I 'm also raising Chinese Cresteds with my daughter, Kathy Knoles.  Included in this mix are several champion and group placing Shih Tzu which I have either bred and or handled to their championship and group placements.  Over the years I have shown many different breeds to their championships.  At one time I held a Handlers License issued by AKC, which entitled me to handle breeds in 5 different groups.  I currently spend my time between Illinois, Michigan and Florida, depending on the season.
