DIXIE LITTLE

Dixie Little was born in 1932 on a farm in Central Texas and grew up with animals all around her. Her husband, Fred, brought their first Bulldog home in 1957. One of his co-workers had given him the dog and "she was without a doubt the ugliest old bitch I have ever seen. We bred her and she had a litter of puppies and I was hooked for life!"

Immediately, she joined the Lone Star Bulldog Club in Dallas and shortly thereafter the Bulldog Cub of America. She has served the local club in every capacity and was 1972-73 National Secretary of BCA; held offices in BCA Division IV, and has been a National Counselor since 1974. She is presently head of the Bulldog rescue effort in the Dallas area.

A friend gave the Littles a Schipperke for a pet in the 1960's. Dixie became a charter member of the Lone Star Schipperke Club when it was founded in 1967 and is still an active member.

She has bred and shown on a limited basis for the past 25 years. One of the things of which she is most proud is being the breeder of a Bulldog bitch that is in the Bulldog Club of America Hall of Fame for having produced four champions. As a result of the progeny Dixie has been honored with induction into the BCA Hall of Fame for having bred 10 champions.

She became an AKC judge in 1995 and is presently approved to judge Bulldogs and Junior Showmanship.
