Narelle Hammond-Robertson commenced her dog showing career at the age of seven years exhibiting her grandfather's German Shepherd Dogs and her parent's Welsh Corgi (Pembroke). In 1979, she embarked on her own career with the magnificent and unique Australian Cattle Dog.
Under the Kombinalong prefix, she has bred and exhibited in excess of 50 champions and many multi BIS/BISS winners. There is also many ACD's worldwide that carry the Kombinalong bloodlines.
A qualified veterinary nurse with a degree in marketing Narelle is an accomplished author. In 1990 she wrote "The Australian Cattle Dog" which has sold to date worldwide some 50,000 copies. In 1996 she wrote and published, "The Australasian Dobermann", a 416 page history of the Dobermann in Australia and New Zealand, and in 1999 "The New Owners Guide to the Australian Cattle Dog" book. She is currently working on a new book on the Australian Cattle Dog which will be an in-depth study of the breed.
A strong advocate for congenital testing, Narelle is the chairperson of the Hereditary Diseases committee of the Tasmanian Canine Association Inc (the state controlling body of the Australian National Kennel Council) and is also a co-ordinator for the Tasmanian Canine Association Inc Judges Training Scheme.
Commencing her dog judging career in 1987 Narelle is currently licensed to judge all 7 groups (All Breeds) and Best in Show. Narelle has judged in several States of Australia, New Caledonia, United States of America, Canada, Thailand, Philippines, United Kingdom, Ireland, Finland and New Zealand. With future appointments in the USA, New Zealand, Sweden and Finland in 2006 and 2007, Narelle and her husband Ken enjoy the opportunity to visit new places, and meet new dog people throughout the world.
