In 1973, after buying my first show collie, I joined the Collie Club of America and founded the Blossom Hill Collie line. Since then, more than 50 collies (rough and smooth) bred here or sired by our dogs have completed their AKC Championships. Many have gone on to careers in performance or as specials winning awards at the Collie National, Group Placements at All Breeds shows with two becoming Best In Show winners. Our smooth collie, Ch Blossom Hill Full Circle ROM, became the top winning Best In Show Collie (rough or smooth) in breed history, winning 28 All Breed BIS. Full Circle also had two group placements at Westminster Kennel Club.
In addition to continuous membership in the Collie Club of America, I serve as President of the Collie Club of Northern CA, hold membership in the Santa Clara Valley Kennel Club, am the author of numerous published magazine articles in both Collie Expression and Dogs In Review. In 2004, I wrote a seminar book covering numerous aspects of collie conformation, breeding theories, whelping, and puppy care.I've enjoyed presenting my seminar "A Breeder's Prospective" in both Australia and the USA.In 2010, I was appointed Chairman of the Judges Education Committee for the Collie Club of America. I look forward to this new challenge to help educate fellow judges on the finer aspects of our breed. I also look forward to continue judging collies and the my other approved breeds in the coming years.
