MARILYN  DUNDAS

Marilyn is a second generation bulldogger.  Her parents, Ken and Bertha Branion, became active in the breed in the mid 1930’s.  Marilyn started showing bulldogs in 1954 and finished her first champion, Am & Can Champion Reldaes’ Red Ruggette, in November 1955 at the age of 13. In addition to showing in the breed ring, Marilyn qualified and competed in Junior Handling at the 1956 Westminster Kennel Club show.  Over the years she and her husband Jim have bred and raised several champions and have shown extensively throughout the United States.

Marilyn graduated from Michigan State University and taught elementary school for several years. She began judging in 1971 and has judged throughout the United States, Hawaii, Mexico City, and Canada.   She was honored to have judged dogs and best of breed at the 1980 BCA National show in Long Beach, CA.

Marilyn became a member of BCA in 1966.  She served as secretary of the Bulldog Club of Indiana, secretary of the Hawaiian Bulldog Club, held several offices in the Bulldog Club of Connecticut, was show chairman for three years for St. Hubert Kennel Club, was a councilor for Divisions I and VII, served as AKC delegate for the Pacific Coast Bulldog Club, 16 years as secretary of Division I, and two years as BCA National Secretary.

Marilyn has been a member of BCA since 1966, having to wait until she was old enough to join.  She has served on several BCA committees, worked on the 1992 and 1999 National weeks in CT. and the 2006 BCA National in Orlando, FL.  She is currently serving as the chairperson of the BCA National Show Rules and Procedures committee, on the BCA Long Range Planning Committee, and is a Division VIII Councilor.  She is a member of BCA Division 8, the Tampa Bay Bulldog Club, and an honorary member of the Bulldog Club of Connecticut.

Marilyn currently resides in Punta Gorda, Florida with her husband Jim.  They have a daughter, Wendy, who along with her bulldog lives in St. Petersburg, FL.  Marilyn has attended every BCA National Show Week except one since 1967.
