Howard Falberg purchased his first Golden Retriever in 1969 while living in Cincinnati, OH. Since showing dogs became a family acivity, breeding and showing became entwined.

Since 1970 they have either bred or owned over 30 Champions. Their dogs have competed under their kennel name "Westmont". Their emphasis over the years has been to breed dogs that are sound in movement and structure, type as reflected and defined by the AKC Standard, outgoing and giving in spirit, appealing in looks and demeanor and a true companion, wherever and with whomever they reside.

Due to Howard's work they have lived on both coasts and in between. In the Golden Retriever world he has served as President of their local Specialty club, General Chairman of their 1993 National Specialty, Vice President of the Golden Retriever Club of America and its AKC Delegate. He is also President of Longshore Southport Kennel Club.

Howard has been judging since 1984 and is currently approved to judge the entire Sporting Group.

His working career has been primarily in the field of Human Resources where most recently he served as SVP for May Merchandising Company. He retired on 12/31/93 and he now does consulting work in the field of H.R. Together with his wife, Carol, they live in Connecticut with five Goldens and one Basset Hound that thinks he is a Golden.
