Mrs. Grace A. Black purchased her first showdog, a Doberman Pinscher (a son of the famous Ch. Borong the Warlock) in the spring of 1964. He finished his championship in 1966 and lived to be 13 years old. Mrs. Black has never been without a Doberman since that time; breeding, exhibiting and finishing many Champions.
In 1984. she was granted AKC approval to judge Dobermans, Great Danes, Rottweilers, Chinese Shar-Peis and Junior Showmanship. She will be applying for approval to judge several additional Working breeds in the fall of 1996.
Mrs. Black is an Honorary Life Member of the Doberman Pinscher Club of Florida, Inc., having held many offices in the club since she joined in 1964, and has been a member of Greater Miami Dog Club since 1966. She is also a member of several judges' organizations, including the American Dog Show Judges, Inc., Dog Judges Association of America, Inc., Senior Conformation Judges Associations, Inc., Conformation Judges Association of Florida, in addition to the Southeastern Professional Stewards Association. When she is not judging, Mrs. Black stewards at shows in Florida and many other Southern states.
Mrs. Black has judged extensively throughout the United States, as well as Canada, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela and Taiwan. She enjoys judging all breeds and loves all dogs, however, she remains a working breeds enthusiast and would like eventually to expand her judging agenda to include all the breeds in the Working Group.
