Mrs. Mayfield has been involved with the Sport of Dogs since the mid-sixties.She has owned and shown Herding and Toy dogs in both breed and obedience, and put Championship titles on more than 50 Old English Sheepdogs and over 30 on her newest breed, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. Her dogs also have many Obedience Titles and Register of Merit Awards.

Mrs. Mayfield studied business at Cambridge in England. At UCLA in Los Angeles, she studied theater, at which time was taken on by a top talent agent and was in many commercials, worked on a TV soap, Days of our Lives, know on the set as "DOOL" and movies. Her hobbies have always included riding horses, showing dogs and travel.

Mrs. Mayfield is approved by the American Kennel Club for eight Toy Breeds, all the Herding Breeds and Group 7, all Miscellaneous Breeds, Junior Showmanship and Best In Show. She has judged in many other parts of the world, such as Australia, South Africa, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Finland, Mexico, Japan and England.

Marilyn is President of the prestigious Burbank Kennel Club, named Show of the Year at their first show in 1992.

At home Mrs. Mayfield lives with many Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and one African Gray parrot named Lucy.
