James Arnold became interested in breeding and showing Boxers in 1956 while stationed at the Naval Gunnery School in San Diego. He has bred four Boxer Champions, one of which became an American Boxer Club Sire of Merit.

His judging started in 1988 when he was approved for Boxers. He also has his provisional for Australian Shepherds. He has judged numerous Boxer Specialties and all-breed shows, plus the China Boxer Club in Taiwan. In addition, he has judged several Australian Shepherd Club of America Specialties.

Mr. Arnold served as President and Treasurer of the Boxer Club of Southern California and was a founding member of the Orange Coast Boxer Club. He served as Second Vice President of the Boxer Club of San Diego.
