I began competing in conformation and obedience with my 1st dog, Australian Terrier Casey, in the mid-1980's. I started teaching competition obedience a few years later, and have continued to do so ever since. I have titled 8 dogs in obedience (4 terriers & 4 Flat-Coated Retrievers), 5 of them to the OTCh level. I've also titled some of them in conformation, agility, tracking, rally, and hunt tests. I'm the author of two books on obedience, as well as the producer of a popular video on teaching dogs to retrieve. I have been teaching weekend seminars on competition obedience around the country since sometime in the 1990's. I started judging obedience and rally in 2006. I don't judge a huge amount, but every time I do, I take back something valuable to my teaching. I've started apprenticing in Open recently.
