Frederick W. "Bill" Braun became interested in purebred dogs in 1958. Through the years, in cooperation with his wife and daughters, Chihuahuas, Shetland Sheepdogs, Salukis, Shih Tzus, English Cockers, Whippets and Australian Cattle Dogs were owned.

Mr. Braun was first approved by AKC to judge in 1975 (Chihuahuas and Shetland Sheepdogs), and is approved at the present time to judge Group V, 10 Non-Sporting breeds, Salukis, Manchester Terriers and Shetland Sheepdogs, Junior Showmanship and Best in Show.
