Pat was showing dogs in AKC events starting as a young child. Pat relocated to Canada in 1984, and continued to participate in AKC, Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) and International events, as a breeder and exhibitor of champion Borzois, Salukis and Boxers, and as an all-breed professional handler. Pat has many BIS, BISS and Group wins to her credit. Pat also was a professional groomer for over 25 years.
Pat taught conformation handling for 4-H and various kennel clubs. In 1977 she had the honor of judging the 4-H Finals at the New York State Fair.
Pat is an approved (2004) AKC Junior Showmanship judge and (1996) CKC Hound Group judge including Finnish Spitz. She is also approved (2005) to judge Affenpinschers, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Chihuahuas (Long & Short Coats), Chinese Crested Dogs, English Toy Spaniels, Griffons (Brussels), Italian Greyhounds, Maltese, Miniature Pinschers, Pekingese, and all Poodles (Toy), (Miniature),(Standard). She is on permit (2005) for the balance of the Toy Group including Xoloitzcuintli (Toy). She is AKC provisional for Afghan Hounds, Borzois, Salukis.
Pat has judged in the United States, Canada, Australia and the Republic of Korea.
Pat and Ed present Gilbert's K-9 Structure & Movement Seminars = Enhancing Your Win Capability. She has done educational programs on grooming and handling in the United States, Canada and the Republic of Korea. She has also done presentations on Sighthounds. Pat is conversationally multilingual in English, French, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese which is an asset to international presentations.
Pat is a member of the President's Council of the AKC/Canine Health Foundation.
