Charles W. Ruppert became involved in the purebred Dog World when he purchased a German Shorthaired Pointer bitch as his hunting companion in the early '60's. Through his teenage son's interest in conformation he became involved in the dog show scene and established Brandywine Kennels in eastern Pennsylvania.
In 1975 he founded the Schuylkill Valley German Shorthaired Pointer Club and served as its first President. He was President and Show Chairman for several years of the Lehigh Valley Kennel Club in Allentown, PA.
Mr. Ruppert began judging in 1974 when he was approved to judge German Shorthaired Pointers. He was approved for the Sporting Group in 1982. He also judges three Working Breeds -- Dobermans, Great Danes and Siberian Huskies. He has judged many local Specialties and "had the privilege of judging three National Specialties: The German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America in 1989; The Weimaraner Club of America in 1987, and The Golden Retriever Club of America in 1995."
