I have owned purebred dogs my whole life, but didn't get involved with showing until 1987. My parents bought our first borzoi and a new friend in the breed took me and my mother to our first show, The Borzoi Club of America National Specialty. Many of the breeders in my area decided that I needed a better borzoi to show in juniors. I was given Ch Sylvan Marigold CD and together we won many awards, including Best Junior at the Old Dominion Kennel Club. Which won us a trip to the Beverly Hills Kennel Club for the World Series of Juniors Showmahip. I was hooked on showing, and my parents made sure I was at a show somewhere in the US every weekend for the next four years. I do not go to as many shows a year but try to go every other weekend.
I have bred borzoi for twenty years and whippets for eighteen. Together with my parents we have bred eight borzoi litters producing twenty champions and four more that are on there way to becoming champions. I also own a champion saluki and a basenji.
I owned and showed many other breeds in juniors but none could compare to the borzoi. After two years of showing I decided I wanted a whippet to show and was given a very nice male my from a fellow borzoi breeder. I fell in love with the breed and have owned shown and bred whippets for eighteen years now.
