Harlowe Jahelka has bred, trained and shown GSDs since 1957. He trained Police Dogs for Patrol and Narcotics from 1977 to 1992, and retired after 31 years with the L.A. County Sheriff's Department where he was the first K-9 Sergeant and trainer.
Mr. Jahelka became an AKC Obedience Judge in 1969, and was one of the Judges for the California Police Olympics in 1980. He has Judged Obedience all over the United States, including Hawaii, also in Canada, and Mexico. He has Judged Conformation around the U.S. and in Canada.
Mr. Jahelka is the Past President of the Pasanita Obedience Club, Inc. of California. He is the Past President of the Hurricane Ridge Kennel Club of Washington State, Inc. (1998 and 1999), and Show Chair for Hurricane Ridge in 1997. He was the Associate Show Chair of the Santa Barbara Kennel Club twice and was the Trial Chair of the Pasanita Obedience Club for several years. He is currently affiliated with the following clubs: Cardigan Welsh Corgi Club of America, Morris and Essex Kennel Club, German Shepherd Dog Club of America, Nashville Kennel Club, The American Brussels Griffon Association, The National Brussels Griffon Club, The Griffon Bruxellois Club of the United Kingdom and The Griffon Breeders Association of the United Kingdom. Harlowe is also affiliated with the American Dog Show Judges Association, The Dog Judges Association of America, The Eastern Tennessee judges study group and The Association of Western Obedience Judges. He and his wife Anne are currently showing Brussels Griffons and Cardigan Welsh Corgis in conformation.
