Southern I.W. Rescue & Adoption (SIWRA)
SIWRA is a formal network of breed rescue volunteers in GA and FL, who assist in all areas of IW rescue. Our goal is to ensure that every needy Irish Wolfhound is placed in a loving, responsible and reliable home.

The adoption process begins with a written application form that must first be on file-followed by reference checks and in-home visits that help us match each hound with the pre-approved home that will best meet his or her needs. Every adoption is covered by a formal adoption agreement, to ensure the lifetime well-being and happiness of each hound.

Our network of rescue volunteers also works to provide general breed information, educating the public about this giant breed and promoting and fostering responsible dog ownership. Breeding and placement practices is another integral part of SIWRA's efforts. We also coordinate efforts with other recognized IW rescue orgaizations throughout the country and our organization assists out-of-state breeders who are considering shipping an IW puppy to a home in our area, by arranging premise checks on behalf of the breeder, to help ensure responsible puppy placements.
