About the Owner:
It was an accident, I swear! When went tot he animal shelter for a dog 11 years ago, it as a Chesapeake Bay Retriever we went to look at. It was gone, but a 100 pound Labrador named Otis picked us instead. Obedience lessons were in order and our trainer suggested getting an ILP number and doing some obedience trials. Gradually, we became interested in what all those Labradors were doing in the other ring. We bought a show dog, knowing absolutely nothing about the breed. Although she has been a wonderful dog, and actually got a point, whe was not destined to be a champion. I bought my next show puppy, a yellow male, from Sally Bell, who gave me my start in the breed. He didn't work out and was replaced with a black male who became our claim to fame in the Labrador world: BISS AM/CAN CH Boradors Significant Brother AM/CAN CD. He has been in the top 15 Labradors in the country for 5 out of his 9 years. He has won four Labrador Specialties, gotten a Judge's Award at Westminster, received group placements and is recognized by most people in the Labrador show world. The problem with your first show dog being as nice as 'Signey' is that it is pretty hard to find something to measure up. But, we have finished 7 champions, 5 Canadian champions and numerous novice obedience titles. We work some in the field with the dogs, but it is tough to do everything well. We believe in what we do as breeders and try to do a good job at it. THere is no other way to maintain a good reputation in this business.
