Dance is quite a character. She has the showiness that comes from her dam, Cricket, the first Border Collie bitch to win the herding group in America. She has the smarts and attitude of her father Barney. Dance is a determined young lady that decides what she wants to do and when she wants to do it. If she wants to show she is unbeatable. We are proud that in her limited show career she has gained multiple group placements and was in the top 20 for an invitation to the first-ever AKC/Eukanuba Invitational Show in Orlando, Florida. She will be breeder/owner handled there--why? Because I can always expect the unexpected with her, and that makes for an interesting life. In 2002, Dance will be bred to kennel mate Ch Darkwind's Blame It On Rio.

Dance was from a long awaited litter, planned several years before her birth. The Darkwind breeding program has always had a view to the future. We were privileged to bring in Dance's mum, Cricket, Aust/Am Ch Korella Song of Joy who was lightly campaigned in the USA, before having her litter of three girls and returning to owner Sigrid Mortensen. Dance typifies the Darkwind lines with her driving, forceful movement and classic cleaness coming and going. She has strength front and rear, with the balance of correctness so lacking in the breed today. We are planning a breeding with Dance to Rio to combine our foundation lines, and hopefully cement the type we have long been striving for, while also maintaining the outstanding temperaments, and herding ability that are hallmarks of the breed.
