About the Breeder:
My name is Pam Mutchek and I am a partner in T'Marras Kennels. I live in Benton, Ill. We maintain a limited kennel here on our property and maintain a 8 fenced acres as a daily run for our Ibizans. I have been involved with dogs for 20 years. I first started out doing Schutzhund. I moved into the AKC Obedience ring. This is when I got my first Belgian Sheepdog. Over the next several years I showed in Obedience and Conformation with Belgians and Rottweilers. I placed AKC championships on 7 Belgians several of which won from the Bred By Exhibitor Class. I also obtained several CD's. With the overbreeding of Rotts and the inter-club problems with Belgians, I started to look for a new breed. I was looking for something with less hair -- my wrist had just about had it! (with all the coat of the BSD.) A friend of mine had an Ibizan Hound. ((smooth)) We talked and attended shows together.
I liked the versatility of the breed and the minimal health problems. But, I just had to have a little more hair! Thus a wire coat Ibizan was what I chose. I have had Ibizan's now for over 6 years. I have finished 5 Ibizans with AKC Championships, and also do Lure coursing. One of my current bitches has recorded several Best in Fields at Lure Trials.
With the help of my good friend Glenn, we are using my foundation bitches to create a GREAT wire kennel. Both of these bitches are Champions with fun personalities, exceptional confirmation, and excellent health. We hope 2004 will be a great year for our kennel. We are planning a trip to Europe to secure new Wire Bloodlines which are not currently present in the United States. We plan on one or two litters in 2004/2005. We look forward to working together with a handful of new and current owners during the next several years. Ibizans are great ambassadors and fun additions to the right owners. So here's to a bright future!
