About the Breeder:
Minstrel Boxers, a small in-home kennel, produced five champions in its first two litters. The two bitches in the first litter both placed at the 1998 American Boxer Club National. From our second litter (born May '99), there were two male champions, one (Ch. Minstrel's Mannheim Steamroller) who finished with four majors at 17 months of age and another who was Best of Winners at the 2000 ABC National Specialty, finishing with three majors/two Best of Winners at Specialties (followed by Best Veteran Dog and Award of Excellence in 2005), and one bitch who gained her championship title. The next generation brought another champion male, along with continuing success at the ABC, most recently, a class win in 2008 by Minstrel's Half O' Chance, with class placements by both of her competing get, as well. Understanding the genetic pitfalls inherent in US Boxers, we began a new Minstrel line -- based on the generally far longer-lived English breeding stock, mixing the best of the English style (beautiful headpieces and substance) with the best that North American Boxers have to offer -- elegance and temperament. Since beginning our new journey in the breed, we've made two natural-eared champions -- one half UK and one full-blooded UK. No more cropping at Minstrel! Katherine is a writer whose credits have included a column about Boxers for the Internet breed magazine, The Boxer Underground, and occasional articles in the Boxer breed publications The Boxer Review, The Boxer Ring and the UK Boxer Quarterly. Committed to improving the welfare of this exceptional breed, we test heart health using Doppler echocardiogram and Holter monitor, and place special emphasis on endocrine health and general longevity in the pedigree. We are members of The American Boxer Club.
