About the Breeder:
It is our belief that every Chesapeake should be a family dog. In keeping with this, we have always attempted to produce dogs in our breeding program that first and foremost have a good temperament and are physically sound. We have what is perhaps a unique perspective on the working abilities of Chessies, having both grown up in eastern North Carolina where the breed was the primary dog used by professional hunting guides in the days of long seasons and high limits. As a result, we want a Chesapeake that is large enough and powerful enough to handle a wounded goose, has a coat that can protect him or her through a long day in a boat or blind, is amiable enough to be a part of a group of people, and still gentle enough to come home and be a trustworthy companion.
