About the Breeder:
When I first got into English Cockers, I was fortunate to establish my line with a brood bitch from one of the most prominent breeders of her time, Jean Glassen of Maple Lawn Kennels. Misty (Maple Lawns Misty Rose) never finished her championship (my fault, not hers) but she became the foundation of LAELIN English Cockers, later to become ZIEL-LOR English Cockers. Her first breeding was to CH WOODLEA DICROFT PARADER. I kept the only boy in the litter, CH. LAELINS AMIGO. 'Buddy' won his first group at 11 months old and went on to be a multiple BIS winner and a group placer at Westminster. Since then, many of my dogs have been ranked in ECS Top 10; winners at both Canadian and American National Specialties; high awards at American Spaniel Club; prestigious shows and the UKC Premier. Growing up, my mother taught me three things: do unto others as you would have them do unto you; be honest, not only to others but to yourself; and always do the right thing, no matter how hard it may be. This has always served me well in life and in my breeding program I have always bred my dogs to the highest of standards including health, temperment and soundness. A dog that is correctly built without genetic defects makes for a long lived (14-16 years) companion.
