About the Breeder:
We currently live in Texas, but also have a home in Maine. We've been involved exclusively with Cavaliers since 1996. We imported our first CKCS from two respected breeder/judges in the UK in 2000; he finished quickly, and is still happy and fully health tested (CERF, OFA patellas, PennHip, Cardiac OFA) at 9 years old--no mean feat in this breed!! He has sired CH offspring, but was retired in early 2008. We currently have a couple of nice young dogs at home that we're excited about. Cavaliers are a lovely breed, but unfortunately the millers also figured this out in short order! It is imperative to research the breed as well as prospective breeders BEFORE you buy a puppy. It costs as much to purchase a bad one as a good one these days (and far more in the long run). Cavaliers are generally healthy, hardy little dogs but there are two serious problems in the breed: Mitral Valve Disease and Syringomyelia. Both are polygenic issues and therefore there are NO lines of Cavaliers worldwide that are immune. Anyone who tells you otherwise is either badly misinformed or lying. Please, please do your homework before buying a puppy or attempting to breed Cavaliers.
