About the Breeder:
For too many years to mention my family has enjoyed their time caring for and having fun with animals. There were the 'early years' of showing Cocker Spaniels then Bedlington Terriers; all the while riding and showing our Morgan Horses and Thoroughbreds (even today several Morgans grace our fields). STF has always been involved in some capacity with the sport of showing and competing. MOST RECENTLY (about 20 years), we have focused our attentions on raising and showing Miniature Dachshunds. Having started out with Miniature Wirehairs we soon grew to love Miniature Longhairs and Miniature Smooths. Now, our breeding program is solely focused on Mini Longs & Smooths. Our dachshunds have successfully competed at the breed level winning at various Breed Specialties, earning the coveted title in 1999 'Breeder of the Year, Miniature of the Year and Longhair of the Year'(breeder/owner handled), and last but not least, Group Placements from the Bred-By Exhibitor Class. In terms of Performance: Our miniatures really enjoy their time spent going to ground at Earthdog Events (both competitively and for fun). They get all excited when they have the opportunity to chase the bunny trail at Field Trial Competitions! Finally, OUR GOALS: Continue to breed the best we can; improving upon each generation! Have FUN with our dachshunds whether it's in competition or just playing catch in the backyard. They never fail to bring about a smile or an outright laugh - what more could one ask for?
