About the Breeder:
We've moved from NC to the Phoenix area of Arizona! So it's not too confusing, we were granted a 2nd AKC registered kennel name. When AKC began registering breed specific names, they accepted 'Moonrise' for both Havanese and Tibetan Terriers. We previously had to change the spelling of our name to 'Moonrize' for AKC approval (which extended to all breeds). Our lines and philosophy remain the same, but you will notice the spelling differences as a result. Moonrise Havanese & Tibetan Terriers may be our kennel name, but we don't have a kennel. We have a home where our dogs are part of our family and we only have champion bred puppies occasionally. We don't believe in breeding puppies before they are old enough to have the necessary health testing done, so all of our breeding dogs are over 2 years old, have been BAER tested for hearing, OFA certified for hips, and are CERF'd annually, as well as any additional testing recommended by our breed parent clubs. Moonrise is home to World Champion mother and daughter Tibetan Terriers and World Champion mother and daughter Havanese, and we're on our third generation for each breed.
