About the Breeder:
Sirius Kennels was started by our foundation bitch, Ch. Blazin's Brightest Star CGC TDI (hence the kennel name). Starlet, currently age 13, was the daughter of BISS Am/Can Ch. Snowdown Canis Major CD, a two-time Westminster BOB winner (1991 and 1992), and CH SR Lyric Queen of the Mountain CDX JH NA NAJ WCX CGC Can CD WC. She also placed second in her Veteran's Class at the 2005 National Specialty. We pride ourselves on breeding foremost on health, temperament, performance ability and longevity (Starlet's parents died at ages 10 and nearly 14... neither of which died of cancer). The first generations' sires were Ch. Alpine's Shadow Rider JH (still alive at 13 and a half) ; Can. BISS Am/Can Ch. K'Mander Black Diamond Bay JH WC (2 time Canadian Specialty Best in Specialty Show winner and multiple wins in Am. Veteran's classes); and the next generation's sires includes Ch. SR TLC Bluemoon's Starlite SH CD (who also placed second at the 2005 National Specialty), and Am/Can Ch. Evening Star's Aires Bounty CGC (in the top 10 for 2007). Several get of these breedings have placed at several National Specialties (both in the US and Canada). Our latest win was in California at the Eukanuba Invitational 2007 Dog Show, where Ch. Sirius' Catastrophic Nor'Easter won Best Bred-By Exhibitor. Handled by owner/breeder/handler M. Renee Decker. She also placed as the number 6 bitch for 2007. We strive to maintain excellence and ethical integrity to the breed at all times. Please see the Flat-Coated Retriever Society of America website to learn more about the breed. And to learn more about the Sirius family and about when our Flat-Coated Retriever puppies are due, please visit us at www.SiriusFCR.com. All breedings done with health clearances on both the dam and sire. Serious inquiries welcome. Our next planned breeding will be in July 2008.
