About the Breeder:
I am a member of the Newfoundland club of America, Bear Mountain Newfoundland club, New England Newfoundland club, Newfoundland club of Canada, Northland Newfoundland club. Please visit club websites to see Newf. happenings & workshops in your area. Our Newfoundland's have gone into hospitals to do therapy work. Where they have made the sick, old and employees feel happy and better. They have been the reason for children to smile, that have previously feared dogs in general. We will always keep temperament, health and working abilities a priority. Our dogs are all screened for genetic diseases that are prevalent in the Newfoundland breed and effect the hips, elbows, heart, thyroid, eye's & cystinuria. We then breed accordingly to minimize genetic defects. A DNA profile is done prior to being used for breeding. Veterinary and Cardiologist findings are forwarded to the Orthopedic Foundation of Animals, and registered with CHIC. Every puppy that we breed or purchase has its heart checked by a board certified veterinary cardiologist, between the age of eight & nine weeks. We use Dr. N. Joel Edwards PO Box 558, Altamont, NY 12009. Most importantly they must express the hallmark of the Newfoundland breed, which is a sweet temperament, before being considered for breeding.
