About the Breeder:
I have a very limited breeding program of well- bred smooth standard dachshunds. The bloodline with which I have been working has been well known for over 60 years for top producers, specialty winners, and dogs with distinctive style. Even in a well-researched and planned show litter, not all puppies are show quality. Many times, only one or two puppies from a litter have all the qualities necessary to compete. For the puppies that will not be show dogs, I interview families for good homes for these wonderful pets. Pets are sold on a spay/neuter contract only. I home-raise my dogs in a family environment. My puppies are well socialized from birth and very used to young children, which is extremely important for proper dachshund temperament. My pups are always individually vet-checked. I have only 'house dogs' and do not believe in any dog being a 'kennel dog'. This means I need to make tough choices and occasionally place retired champions or older puppies that are not maturing as well as I hope for the show ring into selected pet homes.
