About the Breeder:
I take dog breeding very seriously, since it involves a lot of commitment, dedication and responsibility. Not only toward the breed, but also toward new owners. I believe in proper socialization of puppies for a sound and stable temperament. I also emphasize the health in dog breeding, carefully investigating the bloodlines of my dogs and of stud dogs for hereditary diseases. I follow the European rules for breeding dachshunds, which includes CERF testing of the parents for hereditary eye diseases prior to breeding. If indicated, I also perform additional health testing. I have European standard smooth dachshunds (19-24lbs). In 1998, we moved with 4 dachshunds to North Carolina from Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Before our move, I have been showing my dogs successfully in Europe. Most of my current dogs have passed European hunting tests. While remain showing my dogs and partaking in hunting tests in Europe, I have been active in AKC field trials and earthdog events. My primary goal is to breed healthy dachshunds, sound of conformation and temperament, preserving their hunting heritage.
